I dance all day and all night with these December 22, 2008 K. Cervantes (Aan Antonio, TX) These speakers get loud and make everything sound great. There is a "rattle" when you play some songs with a LOT of base (on full volume), but the "rattle" can usually be stopped by turning down the base *just* a tiny bit. I'm not an audiophile, but I love loud music and these speakers satisfy me completely. I've even noticed people dancing on the sidewalk as they stroll past my house.
I had "creature speakers" before I purchased these and find them to be equivalent, sound wise. The "spot" design does seem a little bit more compact and stylish, though. These speakers look great!
The Jetsons called and they can't have them back.... December 11, 2008 Merdith Roach (Houston,TX) I bought these futuristic 70's ish speakers on a whim when I found them on clearance. They remind me of those space helmet tv's when I was a kid. I have a good ear for sound as I listen to electronic and alternative to James Brown and so on, and these little speakers sound great. Less mid range, that's good. Nice design, good price, and they look sweet on my desk.
Awful. Sending them back May 1, 2008 Jon Gilkison (NYC) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Absolutely zero mid-range. Tapping my foot on the floor produces more bass than the subwoofer, even with it jacked to max.
Incredibly disappointed.
Great Value April 2, 2008 S. rich (boynton beach,fl) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I am old enough to have purchased some of the original JBL reference speakers, (either $1000 each or $1000 for the pair), but what I loved is ' the clear sound', that makes you think you are setting in the audotorium.
The JBL spot speaks have that same quality, and for $100, this is a 'must buy'.
In addition, they happily connect to my IPOD, PC, or any other source that I can find. Great product.
Great buy... no regrets! March 20, 2008 Ellen Marie Hitt (North Carolina) I got my speakers a couple of days ago, and I LOVE them! I didn't have my ipod with me, so I hooked them up to an old portable cd player. The sound is great, and I really like how modern they look. Easy touch volume control. There are instructions on changing the covers, which I didn't see until after I managed to pry them off. Great price for what you get!
