What a piece of junk! December 26, 2008 A parent who desires decent quality toys (Butte, MT USA) We bought this for my 4 year old for Christmas. When I tried to tighten the strings, I broke one of them as well as the extra that comes with the guitar. The remaining 5 strings sort of hang uselessly with no way to fix them. If you try to tighten them, the thing just loosens up again as soon as you let go of it. It's nearly completely useless, except that a 4 year old doesn't recognize the fact that it's a piece of garbage. I suspect that with a little supervision my child could build a better quality guitar. Junk, junk, junk.
Guitar - Good, cheap fun!! December 26, 2008 C. Jones We bought this guitar for my 3-year-old son for Christmas. He was ecstatic when he tore off the wrapping paper and saw the picture of the guitar on the box! The thinnest string did break while my husband was tightening it. However, there was a spare string in the bag with the guitar pick, so we were back to "rocking out" in no time!
I think the guitar is pretty well-made for how inexpensive it is; the wood is nice and the directions (which we did not bother to read at first) even warn you to tighten the strings very slowly, and that you'll have to tighten the strings multiple times over the first few weeks of use. The guitar is not in tune, but that doesn't bother us or my son, as all he really wants to do with the guitar is "jam" and "rock out." lol
Kids fantasy Guitar December 25, 2008 Louise C. Nicholas (Augusta, ME USA) Woodstock Percussion Kid's Fantasy Guitar
Very disappointed in this product. Although the guitar itself looks like a real guitar, the strings are very loose and flimsy. In fact, in order to make any sound, we had to remove one string. I would not recommend this purchase
My 3 year old loves this guitar December 18, 2008 Tylu (Georgia) We got this guitar for my son for Christmas last year, he was 2 then - to my amazement it is still in one piece and still very much loved by my 3 year old and my 6 year old and all of their friends. A few of their friends are asking for one for Christmas this year! We have had one broken string, my husband tightened it too far, it was easily replaced with a guitar string from the store. It is never really in tune, but that doesn't bother the kids. When I unpacked this guitar last christmas I thought we would get a couple of months out of it - it does not look durable. However,a year later and it is still making music!
fun junk May 22, 2008 Samuel B. Vincent (Salt Lake City, Ut United States) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This guitar is cheap and poor quality. Two strings broke while I tried to tune it, the bridge constantly comes unglued. But my two-year old loves it because it makes noise and he feels like a rock star. Which is why we bought it. Don't expect to be able to teach a child anything on this guitar...but I'd buy it again for a two-year-old to wail on.
