5 out of 5 stars Good, cheap watch   January 7, 2009
Richard Hempen (Saint Louis, Missouri)
The Casio Men's Analog Watch(#MQ24-7B2) is a good and inexpensive watch. I have used these watches for over 15 years. Sometimes, I replace the battery once every two years, sometimes I just buy a new one. This watch is reliable and waterproof. The battery usually lasts about two years of constant running, the face is easy to read, even in dim light, the design is clean and attractive and it keeps perfect time. I would recommend this watch to anyone.

5 out of 5 stars Great watch   December 8, 2008

Yes, it looks cheap, and yeas the face is slightly smaller than the normal "bulky watch" these days. Honestly though if you're spending this little on a watch you can't be that fashion conscious. This is a great watch for me because I don't mind looking broke (muggers love guys who show off through their watch). It's easy to read, functional and comfortable The strap does not pull on arm hairs which has been a frequent problem for me in the past. I've taken this in and out of water and through the rain forest, and in below freezing temps, no complaints so far.

4 out of 5 stars Cheap and basic   September 30, 2008
Andy Davis (San Diego, CA)
As they say, you get what you pay for. I bought this watch about a year ago for around $12 including tax. The main reason I bought it was because it is very comfortable. I have hairy arms, and I need a watch that won't catch the hairs, and of the many watches I tried on for fit, this one was the least intrusive. The analog display is easy to read and easy to set. I have only two complaints about this watch: 1) There is no illumination glow at all, making it useless in the dark (what does it cost to add a simple glowing stripe? jeez!) 2) It loses its ability to resist water very slowly. What started out as fogged lens after a few months turned into full-blown water leakage. After taking a hot shower this watch recently died. Which is unfortunate because I just replaced the battery at $7 each! So my advice is, if you want a cheap disposable watch with no frills, this is a good choice. Otherwise, spend an extra $10 or $15 dollars and get a better one.

1 out of 5 stars Fatally itchy band   September 8, 2008
David Traver Adolphus (Bennington, Vermont)
As a timekeeping device, I have no issues with this watch, but for something a human being is supposed to affix to their body, I have a problem. I haven't figured out why yet, but the band is so intolerably itchy, I literally can't wear the watch. It's definitely in the clasp area, but I can't find any burrs or flash on it that might rub. I'm not particularly sensitive to rubber, et c., so I'm guessing it's catching and pulling out minute hairs. As a new band would cost at least as much as the watch, it's essentially a write-off. Crumbs.
